The purpose-built titanium cup face, ultra light magnesium crown, and the heavy, high-density steel sole plate are a technology that is unique to the XCG-V.

With the XCG-V, there is not one ounce of excess: the magnesium crown and the titanium cup face allow 49 percent of the club head's weight to rest in the high density steel sole. The unique v-shape shifts more weight to the rear quadrant of the club head for greater forgiveness. Weight savings are further maximized in that the three head components are bonded through a revolutionary no-weld process called combo-brazing.

The titanium cup face and magnesium crown keep the component weight down, moving more mass to the sole. Through an engineering process accurate to 1/1,000th of an inch, the components are precision-cast with interlocking channels, chemically heat-treated, and vacuum heat-cured for permanent bonding without welding. The intrinsic quality of the process is unparalleled resulting in a more pure energy transfer to the ball.

Consistent with Exotics technology, the XCG-V features a deep and low CG position for an extremely low spin rate and pinpoint accuracy.
